DORA NEEDS A VERY SPECIAL HOME BEFORE CHRISTMAS
We are desperately searching for a very special home for a very special girl. This is 5 year old Dora, and we are becoming increasingly worried that this lovely little cat won’t find her happy ever after before Christmas.
Her foster carers will need to go away, and if we cannot find her a home in time, Dora may have to move into kennels. For this sensitive little girl, who struggles so much with change, this would be incredibly difficult for her.
Please, can we find someone willing to give Dora the chance she so desperately deserves?
Dora is a completely non-aggressive, kind and gentle little girl. She is incredibly sweet, but she is also very sensitive and needs time to feel safe in new surroundings.
When she moves somewhere new, she will likely hide away for a couple of weeks while she takes everything in. This isn’t because she is unfriendly or doesn’t want human company; she simply needs time to understand that she is safe.
Once Dora feels comfortable, a completely different side of her emerges. She becomes affectionate, sociable and a wonderful little companion. She will happily snuggle up with you on the sofa or curl up beside you in bed.
Her previous family kept her confined to one room with the door shut for quite some time, which we believe has contributed to her uncertainty around unfamiliar environments. She just needs someone who understands that trust cannot be rushed.
And the lovely news? Dora has only recently started showing an interest in toys! Watching her slowly discover new things and grow in confidence is just wonderful. She has the sweetest little face, and we know there is so much more of her personality waiting to shine through.
What sort of home does Dora need?
We are looking for a calm, patient person who understands that settling into a new home may take time.
Dora would be best suited to:
A quiet home with no young children.
Someone who will let her hide and explore at her own pace, without pressure.
A patient adopter who understands that building trust can take weeks, not days.
A home with safe outdoor access, either through a cat flap away from busy main roads, a catio, or a garden secured with a ProtectaFence system.
If you give Dora the time and reassurance she needs, the rewards will be enormous. Dora has never lived with other cats so adopters with other cats would need to do very slowly intros via a door net on a room just for Dora while she settles.
You really do get out what you put in with this special girl. Once she trusts you, you will become her favourite person in the world. She just needs someone willing to give her that chance.
Dora is a healthy girl who has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and blood tested (healthy). She is ready to find a loving family and begin the next chapter of her life.
📍 Dora is available to meet in Canterbury, Kent.
Could you be Dora’s Christmas miracle?
We desperately want this little girl to have a home of her own before Christmas, somewhere she can settle in peace, feel safe and finally know what it is like to belong.
Please don’t overlook Dora just because she needs a little extra time. She isn’t difficult, she isn’t aggressive and she isn’t asking for anything extraordinary. She simply needs patience, understanding and a quiet place to call home. She can’t live with dogs and could potentially live with another cat via slow intro’s via door net to begin with.
If you think you could be the special person Dora is waiting for, please get in touch with us about adopting her.
And if you can’t adopt, PLEASE SHARE HER POST.
One share could reach the person who changes Dora’s life forever. We really need to find this girl a place to call home before Christmas.
Let’s make sure Dora’s next move is into her forever home, not a kennel.
