January’s Volunteer of the Month – Gary Barrell

Gary has volunteered with Flori’s Friends Rescue for nearly two years, fostering many of our more serious cases and helping to rehabilitate them into their new homes. All of Gary’s fosters are still in their forever homes, doing extremely well.

He’s a trainer, boarder and fosterer who also works as part of the charity support team, tasked with regular checks on all the dogs placed in their new homes.

Due to his training expertise, Gary has spent countless hours on the phone dealing with any behavioural issues our adopters may be dealing with, helping to settle our rescues successfully into their new homes. Recently, he’s taken 3 aggressive dogs; Luna ( who Gary has adopted), Rusty and Skye, who will be with him for long term rehabilitation.

Gary has the best attitude in the work place. He is cheery and positive and makes us all laugh.  No task is too big or small for Gary and his dedication is second to none – even automating the spreadsheets for Erin, our Animal Welfare Manager, in order to save her and the support team time.

Gary, thank you for all that you do, from Team Flori’s.
