Remember cute little Max who came to us last summer?

We originally believed we were taking a dog who just needed a little guidance and training but sadly this was not the case. Poor little Max has been let down by humans and as a result he really struggles to live life like a normal dog.

Max is currently living with one of our very experienced trainers where he is safe and is very well cared for whilst we find him a more permanent solution.

This adorable chap is 8 years young and such a lovely dog, full of fun and affection, but it is now apparent that he struggles to cope in certain situations and his behaviour has meant that despite two attempts by Flori`s at rehoming since last summer, he has been returned to us.

Since joining the rescue, we have paid in excess of £8000 pounds for veterinary investigations and treatment to get Max into a good state of health and we have invested £500 a week in intense training.

Many would have given up on Max by now, which is why we believe we were the only charity that would take him – even his trainers do have days where they are pulling their hair out trying to understand his outbursts and lack of progress – but rest assured Team Flori won’t give up on him.

When we decide that he is ready to go out to a home it will not be through an adoption. Given how special the home will need to be Max will be a “long term” foster, and the rescue will continue to cover all of his costs.

We cannot stress enough that Max will be in our rescue system for life, and it is our goal to ensure that in the future he will be able to cope enough to move into foster with our long-term support and we truly hope that we can finally find Max the specialist foster home he deserves.

If you wish to help you can also consider sponsoring Max who will be in the system for life funded by Flori’s Friends Rescue, your support would be really appreciated.
