Meet one year old Polly & Gus, This brother and sister duo came from a really sad situation. Their owner has severe dementia and sadly was not able to look after them. Both cats were sadly living in a bathroom. With the help of social services, it was decided that it was in their best interest to be removed from the property and transferred to our care. Both cats arrived very scared but have since flourished into total lap cats. They are not only good with other cats but they are also gentle, kind and affectionate to people and children. As each day goes on their confidence and love grows, their interest in toys becomes greater and it really is magical to watch them become relaxed, happy cats. Polly and Gus are healthy, neutered, vaccinated, blood tested and come with 5 weeks free pet insurance. They would really like a quieter home - children are ok for these two but perhaps only one if young. We aren't sure they would cope with multiple young children (they would be fine with multiple older ones though). They could live in a multi cat home or be equally fine as the only two cats as they have each other. They require cat flap access and not to be near any busy main roads. For all they have been through, they really are golden little souls that have nothing but love to give. Someone would be very lucky to have them. They are currently in foster in Adisham, Kent and available to meet. Please get in touch if these two are the ones for you!

**Available to meet in Kent** Meet the absolutely stunning Tarquin. He is 2 years old and has a very unusual black smoke coat. This kind natured, calm boy was heartbreakingly dumped in a vet’s car park in his carrier. After arriving to us in rescue, we soon realised something wasn't quite right. After running some scans, it was concluded that poor Tarquin had likely been hit by a car, or fallen from a height. With no external injuries it was amazing he survived for so long and so happily. Luckily, Tarquin's lovely vet, Aiden managed to rearrange all that needed re arranging internally (we will go into more detail upon application) and he made a full and fast recovery. He is now a healthy and happy boy that is ready to find a human to love him. Despite everything he’s been through, Tarquin has never hissed, spat, or shown any aggression towards the people caring for him. He has a truly gentle soul and is an absolute gentleman. He has quickly made lots of cat friends and generally settled in nicely. He could easily live with other feline companions or be equally fine as the only cat. Tarquin is a pretty laid back Chappy and is happy being left alone whilst someone is at work. He isn't needy but is affectionate and loving once he knows you. Tarquin has just begun showing interest in toys and is gradually become more and more interactive with our volunteers. He is in quite a noisy and busy environment and has taken it in his stride but we feel that in a quieter place he will become even more confident. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and blood tested. We are looking for a calm, quiet environment for him, ideally with no super young children (although we are sure in the future once he has settled he would be fine with a baby in the home), access to a cat flap, and away from busy main roads. Tarquin is such a kind and gentle boy, and we believe he will flourish in the right home, the rescue isn't the easiest environment for them to truly come round. With a little time and patience to help him settle, he will be a loving, loyal companion. He truly is a little smasher of a cat. Tarquin can be a tad shy on meet and greets but once he knows you are safe (or have treats) he soon relaxes in. Please get in touch if you have a Tarquin shaped hole in your home. He is such a special little boy.
**Available to meet in Kent- Indoor home** Meet the gorgeous sisters Cosmo and Luna, Both sadly lost their eyes to being stray kittens with terrible eye infections. These guys have not let that stop them and are adapting to home life so very quickly and well! Both map out the house fast, are currently learning to do stairs and are good in their litter trays. Both cats are otherwise, healthy, neutered, vaccinated and chipped. They can live with other calm cats and dogs with gentle introductions and can live with cat savvy children over the age of 7! Here is what their foster says about them: Luna is the biggest cuddle monster ever, if she could lay in bed all day on your chest she would she’s the sweetest soul ever - she loves love. Cosmo is such a funny character and full of energy. She’s more independent than Luna and not a fan of being picked up but she will snuggle up with you when she wants to. She will run around and play with you all day and she adores cheek and back scratches. They are both learning all the sounds a house makes having spent their life growing up in a vet clinic and are coping very well. They are both learning how to us the stairs with Cosmo again being the more confident of the two. We would really like a secure outdoor space for three guys to be able to enjoy all the smells and sunshine so a small garden that adopters can supervise them in, or a catio would be fab. They are both available to meet in Crayford.
**foster home needed , all expenses paid for** The gorgeous Mouse and Munchkin have been with us for 5 months now. They originally came in as stray kittens that had clearly had a very hard time fending for themselves and were absolutely petrified of people. They have never once been aggressive to us and are generally very sweet and kind cats . We have worked really hard with their rehab and they have come on so far but we feel they’ve not progressed much at all in the past month, we think mainly from not not having enough constant human contact ( our attention is spread thin here). We are worried they’ll be stuck in limbo for a long time if they stay here. Is there anyone out there that could foster these two very shy, kind girls. All they need is a quiet home with a patient person with a bit of time to help them grow their confidence a little more so that they can then find a forever home. They can live with other cats (but they can’t go outside whilst in foster) but are a little too shy for children sadly. The rescue will cover every single cost whilst they are in foster. Is there anyone out there that can give us a hand in giving these two girls a brighter future? They’re currently in Chartham Hatch, Kent and can travel anywhere in the south east. Please drop natalia@florisfriendsrescue.org and email if you can help 🙏🏽❤️
Who remembers the gorgeous little Nala? She came other us a few months ago after falling off a table and breaking her leg very badly. Her family wanted to put her down as they didn't want to do the recovery after surgery. Her lovely surgeon asked us if we would take her on instead of having her life ended and of course we said yes. Here we are 3 surgeries and 3 months later and she has made a nice recovery and is ready to fly the nest. What a journey it has been. A huge thank you to her wonderful foster, Soshanna for loving her through all of her hard times. Have a great life baby girl. #florisfriendsrescue #CatsOfInstagram #cats
**Available to meet in Crayford, Kent** Catio or cat proof garden home Meet the darling brother and sister due, Nova and Juno, Both sadly lost their eyes to being stray kittens with terrible eye infections. Here is what their foster says about them: Nova is such a little cutie pie, she’s not the biggest fan of being picked up but she makes up for it when she runs and falls at your feet for belly rubs. Juno is the best boy ever and is a bit more independent but will still purr in your arms like there’s no tomorrow. Both are generally very affectionate cats. They also really enjoy playing together and both love nothing more than snuggling up on the bed with you. Considering they have both ever only known life in a vet clinic they are doing remarkably well in a home environment . They are learning all the new sounds and are good with the hoover being on. We would really like a secure outdoor space for three guys to be able to enjoy all the smells and sunshine. They are both available to meet in Crayford. Please get in touch via the website if you can offer these lovely guys a forever home.
A short while ago we welcomed Polly and Gus ❤️ sadly, they came from a very sad situation where they were living in a bathroom. Their owner has dementia and had forgotten she had cats . These poor little mites weren’t living how they should be and with the help of social services it was agreed that it would be better for their welfare if they came to us. Dementia is such a sad and awful disease and our heart goes out to all that are impacted by it. These two were so lucky to have so many lovely people helping them and we thank their owner for loving them as best she could. These guys are just completing their chip, vaccines and neutering and will soon be looking for a forever home together 🫶🏼 #florisfriendsrescue #cats #cats_of_instagram #tuxedo
We are temporarily closed for intake for 4 weeks. We get such a high volume of unwanted animal requests each day (over 20) we wanted to let everyone know that the answer this month will be a regretful no. This month, we have spent an average of £489 a DAY in veterinary clinics across the South East and we currently have an extremely high volume of sick animals in that require specialist care and rehabilitation. We pride ourselves on the high standards of care and nursing that we provide to our residents and by adding more to the mix, that high standard would slip. We are still open for paralysed dog care training, mobility assessment and wheelchair fittings ! Thank you to everyone who continues to support our work. As you all know we don't really do "normal" animals here, our cases are tricky and lengthy so our work load needs to be carefully managed. Team Flori x
**Available to meet in Kent** Meet 1 year old Mila. This precious girl had a truly heartbreaking start to life. As a tiny kitten, she was left to survive outdoors through the bitter winter cold, scared and alone. Eventually her, along with her sister, were trapped and brought into rescue, where they received immediately veterinary treatment, were neutered, vaccinated, and cared for. When they first arrived in foster care, both girls shook constantly with fear, silent and shut down, just babies who didn’t yet understand they were safe. With time, patience, and gentle love, Mila has slowly begun to heal. The frightened kitten she was once was has blossomed into a curious, sweet natured girl who is learning how to trust. She is still nervous but totally non aggressive. Mila has made enormous progress and is now ready for a home that will continue her journey. We would still class her as a shy cat and will be very nervous to interact with anyone viewing her so please beaår this in mind. This girl is fine with other cats but would be perfectly happy as the only cat too. She can also live with a calm dog. A calm, quiet household is essential for Mila, with no young children, as loud noises can still overwhelm her a little. All Mila wants to do is have a little play with her human and find a nice spot to sun herself in. She jus really starting to enjoy human company, gentle play, and moments of affection. Mila is looking for a special human that is patient, kind, and understanding, someone who sees not just who she is now, but who she can become. In the right home, this girl will continue to blossom, rewarding her human with quiet trust and a very special kind of love. Please get in touch if you can offer this sweetheart the chance she truly deserves. She would be happy with either a catio, cat proofed garden or cat flap access to the great outdoors in a semi rural area (no built up towns)

Our beautiful boy Tarquin is back for some serious recovery and TLC. He’s not out of the woods yet but it’s a good start after such major surgery. He’s such a brave little boy. A huge thank you to all that have donated to far and to our incredibly skilled vets at the VetShack for getting ontop of this at lightening speed. Fingers crossed for this lovely little chap 🤞
We are increasingly seeing other rescues advertise paralysed dogs they haven’t actually met or assessed themselves, that are still in their country of origin. While this is all well and good and there are some absolutely wonderful humans offering them forever homes, we fear that the majority of these homes have never owned a paralysed dog before. The rescues advertising the dogs have not done a pain assessment on these dogs, front leg X-rays for osteoarthritis analysis or provided any type of in person training on how to care for these dogs. Then what is happening is these beautiful dogs are arriving to someone off of Facebook who is then completely overwhelmed and unable to care for them, in turn causing an extremely low quality of life for that dog. We see it time and time again. This post isn’t to shame anyone but to hopefully educate. If you are one of the kind humans offering a paralysed dog you have never met before, a forever home, please consider the following before you commit: Can you afford a proper set of wheels for this dog? (£700+) Can you afford the X-rays and general welfare and mobility assessment with a vet ? Remember dogs don’t show pain most of the time, assuming your dog is pain free because their walking is a very naive error. Are you able to empty a bladder 3-4 times a day? (failing to do so will not only cause suffering to the dog but you will incur a very large, regular vet bill for a urinary infection) Can you afford the nappies, puppy pads, wet wipes, barrier creams and clothes they require to keep them from getting sores? Can you daily bandage those back legs? (If the rescuer chose not to amputate) What will you do when you need to go on holiday and your dog needs looking after? Paralysed dogs aren’t accepted at most boarding places and require someone who knows what to do to look after them. Are you aware you can’t leave them alone all day incase they poop in their nappy and sit in it, causing a UTI? Can you afford the joint supplements and potential daily pain relief in their older age? Can you afford a physio? (ALL paralysed dogs should be seeing a physio now and again) Are you able to lift them and bend at the same time to empty their bladder and put them in wheels? Paralysed dogs need just as much walking, are you fit enough to offer them the exercise and enrichment they need? Can you afford hydrotherapy should the need ever arise? Please share this post, we only want to spread awareness as we get so many calls each day from kind human beings that made a snap decision on Facebook then realised very quickly they aren’t able to provide a quality of life for their dog. Thank you and please no hate, we are so passionate about paralysis welfare we just want people to be informed. They’re a HUGE commitment .
**Available to meet in kent** large catio or cat proof garden home. Meet 18 month old Bandit, He is the gentlest, most loving and kind boy who adores all people and another animals. He would do well in a multi cat home, be fine as the only cat and can also live with calm dogs. He wants nothing more than to be your snuggle buddy. This boy was found straying with a nasty leg injury and sadly his leg could not be saved. He is otherwise healthy, neutered vaccinated, blood tested, chipped and very mobile. Bandit will cuddle up with you anytime you want and offer you his head and belly for a cuddle. He is the perfect companion cat really. We don't feel it fair for a cat who has had and enjoys access to outside to now be forced to be a house cat, so we are looking for a home with either a large catio or cat proof fencing (if you have fencing already you can very easily put the cat safe fixtures on the top). There is not a single bad word we could say about this cat, he honestly is a brilliant all rounder. He enjoys cat nip, the odd play but he mainly just wants a cuddle and is no bother to have around! He is currently available to meet in Chartham Hatch.
The universe always sends us the animals that need us most without us even realising. Tarquin was left in a vets carpark in the night a few weeks ago. Nothing seemed wrong and he was a pretty ‘normal’ but timid cat. This morning, Tarquins breathing didn’t seem right, so he was rushed to emergency where he was immediately placed on oxygen and sent for scans. Turns out this friendly, kind, brave boy had been hit by a car some time ago (probably why he was dumped at a vets) . He requires some very intensive and very expensive surgery tomorrow , along with a couple of nights stay at the out of hours. The universe placed Tarquin with us out of sheer chance and turns out our specialist care is exactly what he needed. If you’d like to donate to Tarquins thousands of pounds worth of bills this week you know what to do 🫶🏼 Www.florisfriendsrescue.org/donate
A very warm welcome to Mr Teddy Norris! He has been straying for four whole years (likely a dumped pet) and he has gone a little feral (like many cats do after fending for themselves for so long). The minute we met this lovely chap we knew he had a heart of gold. He is in a bit of state and has had to have his entire back shaved but we are SO excited to get this lovely fella happy and healthy and trusting humans again 🙂 #florisfriendsrescue #cat #straycat #cats #catsofinstagram

A very very warm welcome to Tabitha. She arrived to us a few weeks ago as a feral. We couldn’t take any photos of her as she was so stressed and kept running and hiding ….we are very quickly starting to realise that little Tabitha may not be feral at all 🫶🏼 just a bit nervous . We are so glad she didn’t get released back outside 🙏🏽 #florisfriendsrescue #blackcat #adoptdontshop #catscatscats
We know our time with you is running thinner each month but we hope we are making it the very best it can be for you Winniepeg ❤️
Tomorrow we welcome four, 7 month old, blind siblings. These little babies were found as strays with such severe eye infections their eyes couldn’t be saved .They will be looking for indoor homes in pairs… ideally a home with a garden for them to have supervised outdoor time in the warmer months ❤️ they’ve been through so much in their short little lives but yet remain so friendly, loving and kind to people, other cats and dogs! They’re going to make some people very very happy 🙏🏽 They’re available to meet in Kent .
