Meet the darling, 6 year old, Mr Tom,
He was found straying the Canterbury area, desperate to try and enter peoples porches, asking for a stroke and something to eat. It was so very sad given it was December and extremely wet and cold. You could find him huddled into a tiny ball under the bushes waiting for someone to throw him a scrap of food or just pay him some attention. Mr Tom is a HIGHLY affectionate, confident, calm cat that takes everything in his stride. He has shown absolutely no interest in going out on the catio and is just happy enjoying his creature comforts in the warm. This lovely boy should not be overlooked, he is chunky, handsome and great to snuggle with. Other than his FIV, which truly isn’t a death sentence, 90% of cats go on to live a long and happy life without medication for it and it really doesn’t affect them. Mr Tom is one of those cats, his FIV has had no affect on him or his health even after living outside for so many years. Mr Tom is neutered, vaccinated, blood tested, healthy, chipped, flead and wormed and now ready to find a final place to lay his head and enjoy what he never had, a family. This lad would be happy in a larger indoor home or one with catio access!
He can definitely live with children and has been great with all the passing dogs whilst he lived outside and was trying to get into people homes and has shown a calm curiosity towards the other cats in his foster home (Although they have only met through the catio mesh) sow e think with nice and slow and gentle intros he would be perfectly fine. He has never shown a single ounce of aggression towards anything or anyone even after he was collected, caged and treated for his flea infestation. In fact, he has been nothing but utterly grateful and we think this just shows what an incredible cat he really is.
Please don’t over look Mr Tom because of his colour or FIV status, he really is a hidden gem at this rescue that is so deserving of a place to call home
