Meet the absolute love bug, cuddle monster, face snogger that is Robyn. Robyn was sadly given up to our kennels due to a new baby being born and the family not having the time to offer her the exercise or attention she needs. This very sweet girl really struggled with the kennel environment and what we originally thought was too much confidence was in fact complete overwhelm at being locked up all alone and not walked properly. Our head of animal welfare took pity on her and decided to take her home into foster for some intense training and she has just bloomed into a well behaved, well rounded, calm and cuddly dog who is happy to walk around in the shops, pubs and towns no bother. She truly will be your best mate. She has the most golden heart and just wants to be loved.
Robyn is a Husky mix so needs two long walks every day to keep her at that lovely level of calm she now has in the house. She currently gets 1 hour in the morning and 30 minutes in the late afternoon with a lunch time garden play (she absolutely loves tug of war, all the toys and her flirt pole). Robyn is a medium size girl so homes that have had larger dogs before are preferred. She barely barks and isn’t at all annoying to have around.
She is a curious kid and likes to be involved with her humans, so a family that can offer her lots of adventures, cuddles on the sofa and generally allow her to be part of their day to day life would be ideal. It is so important to stress here the key to Robyn’s lovely personality truly is exercise so please do not apply for her if you are not walking in green spaces for a good amount of time each day (we won’t accept homes in busy built up areas that have no green spaces for her to walk, pavement walks would crucify this dog with boredom).
Robyn is now a good lead walker and has really taken to her training like a duck to water. She is becoming more handler focused and would be a fantastic dog for anyone that is interested in teaching their dog new things. Given her breed mix she does have a high prey drive, so she is only allowed off the lead in secure dog fields as if she see’s a squirrel there is a high chance the squirrel will win over a chicken bribe! It is important that owners understand although she walks well on the lead she can be strong if she wants to be (e.g. sees a squirrel) .
Robyns plus points are:
Travels very well in the car
Is a total water baby and loves a swim, splash, hosepipe and is very easy to bath
Loves a groom
Loves toys
Can be left at home alone with no issues
Adores absolutely everyone she meets, even children
Gets on well with other dogs (although we do not train our dogs to meet and greet every dog they see as it’s not polite + Robyn is still learning to contain her excitement towards other dogs on walks, we would not want an adopter who lets her run up to every dog, she has been introduced to dogs the correct way here)
Can accompany you to many places
Gives the absolute best sofa snuggles
Robyn can live with another friendly, well rounded and laid back, medium-large dog, she will not do well with a reactive dog around her as she will absolutely stick up for herself if she is started on and we want to ensure she continues to grow into a confident, happy, balanced pooch. She has been brilliant with all the children she has met and in fact gets very over excited to see them but we would not want her in a home with any kids under 10 due to her size and excitability. Cats are a no go for Robyn given she is a husky mix with a high prey drive.
We are actually really shocked no one has snapped her up, it’s very unusual to find a dog this loving, kind and happy with next to no behavioural issues in rescue. She does still have her mad moments but this is expected as she is fresh out of spending months in kennels and she is just realising how much fun everything is. Adopters need to understand she is still learning and settling into “normal life” takes times for these gorgeous dogs that have been failed by so many humans. Robyn will honestly not let anyone down, she has the purest of hearts and enough love to fill the entire room until it bursts.
We are so desperate to see this girl with a family of her own before Christmas this year has just been so dreadful for her. She is available to meeting Chartham Hatch, Kent. Please get in touch if you can offer our Robyn Bobbin that forever home she so desperately needs. She will come with lifetime free access to her trainer on the phone and if local to Kent, also free training sessions should you ever require them.
Robyn is 2 years young, neutered, vaccinated, chipped and is healthy.
